This research is funded by ELRHA's Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises (R2HC) Program which aims to enhance health outcomes by reinforcing the evidence base for public health interventions during humanitarian crises. R2HC is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Wellcome, and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) through the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
The development of our Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) intervention was designed and conceptualized by Australian clinical psychologists who possess significant expertise in providing MHPSS supervision, both within Australia and humanitarian contexts affiliated with the School of Psychiatry at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). In Turkey, the implementation of the MHPSS intervention is a collaborative effort involving the Department of Psychology at KoƧ University and the Syrian-led non-governmental organization Hope Revival Organization. Similarly, in Bangladesh, the MHPSS intervention is being carried out by the Suicide Prevention Sub-Group (SPSG) within the Department of Clinical Psychology at the University of Dhaka.
