Dr Mohamed Elshazly

Mohamed Elshazly is a consultant psychiatrist from Egypt with more than 15 years of experience in clinical mental health services, capacity building, and humanitarian mental health programmes in Egypt, Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Bangladesh, and Nigeria. Mohamed has worked with governments, many international non-governmental organizations, UNHCR, UNICEF and IOM. In his work, Mohamed focuses on mainstreaming of mental health interventions within the humanitarian response architecture, strengthening of community based mental health initiatives, and scaling up brief psychological interventions.
