Mr. Md. Omar Faruk is an assistant clinical psychologist and MPhil researcher at the Department of Clinical Psychology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has clinical experience of dealing with mental health issues since 2017 and engages in clinical supervision since 2019. He is an avid researcher in the field of social psychology with an especial emphasis on racial and gender-based stereotypes and mental illness stigma. Besides, he is also interested in developing and validating psychometric instruments taking Bangladeshi context into account. He employs both qualitative and quantitative approaches for his research inquisition. He has experience in working with a number of organizations as a consultant clinical psychologist and researcher to design and evaluate mental health services. He is currently working on a research project spearheaded by the University of New South Wales in collaboration with the University of Dhaka. He is also working as oversees clinical psychologist for Médecins Sans Frontiers and Optum UK. He has published articles in international peer-reviewed journals.
